CHEDDARS SCRATCH KITCHEN MENU

A scratch kitchen should take the time to make each dish instead of defrosting it. At Cheddar’s, we use quality ingredients and take the time to prepare them in our kitchens each day. To us, making things from scratch means battering your chicken tenders before you fry them. It means smoking your own ribs. It means making your own soup each morning. And it means our food just tastes better. We are known for making things in-house like our famous Honey-Butter Croissants, our Homemade Chicken Pot Pie, Our hand-breaded Fried Chicken Tenders, and our In-House Smoked BBQ Ribs.

It’s pretty simple, actually. We’re all about good food, made well, for a good price. How do we pull that off? By cooking from scratch. And here’s the secret about our secret ingredient — it makes for great tasting food, and even better value.

“Cheddar’s” was proposed by a 5th grade class when our founders Aubry Good and Doug Rogers asked for restaurant name suggestions.

We got our start in Irving, Texas in 1979 but now serve guests in 28 states.

Good service, lovely outside seating, and the food is yummy! Try the ribs … just the way I like them! On the dry side but fall off the bone! I really like this place, brought some friends and they were impressed, too.

Second time at this restaurant and the first time it was great but today was a different deal. The waitress had an attitude . Didn’t get the drink order right
followed by getting meal and not asking you need anything else?
Thank goodness the manager was great because we did not want to pay for ribs that were burnt the steak was cooked to perfection . My friends husbands sandwich was fine. My meal was good but the salad had egg and I am vegan.Meh I was given another salad and it was perfect. The manager was super helpful and that was nice.

I’ve driven past a few Cheddar’s and a friend finally convinced me to go in and give it a try. Lovely modern decor and delicious southern style food.

You must try the croissant! It’s a sweet savory delight. The ribs were made to perfection, the side of broccoli had no flavor, the Mac and cheese is worth ordering double. The chicken was cooked well and was so juicy. We really enjoyed our meal. The portions were very generous and we ended our meal with a massive home made cookie with vanilla ice cream.

We are very excited to go back and try more items on the menu. The quality and quantity of food made it very easy to give this place a 5/5 rating.

Not sure why I avoided this place for so long. Now that I’ve tried it I recommend it to all.

If you live in Florida, more than likely you have a Cheddar’s not far from your house. Another stop while on my whirlwind tour of the East Coast of Florida, my brother decided that all six of us were going to venture out to eat during Covid-Land, and Cheddars was our destination. It’s been over a decade since I’ve visited any of their restaurants, and although my memory continues to deteriorate as I’m closing in on old age, I remembered that my past experiences were positive.
I understand that people want to bring some sort of normalcy back to their lives while we go through this ridiculous pandemic, and dining out helps to fulfill those needs, but put me in the category of those who would rather do take out. Most of these chain restaurants are pretty busy, and I’m happy they are because that means people are able to work, but because they’re only allowed to operate at 50% capacity, there’s usually a long wait involved to get inside. I preface this because lo and behold, we had to wait almost 45 minutes outside in the lovely Florida summer humidity before our table was ready, obviously not a good start, but nothing I’d blame on the restaurant.
All in all, Cheddars delivered once again when it came to the overall experience. All of the employees were following the new Covid guidelines, and all of the tables were spaced accordingly. Our waitress came right out, was super friendly, and managed to keep our large party happy by keeping our drinks full and accommodating our every need in regards to extras (which we had a lot of). Everyone’s food was fresh and hot, cooked just the way they wanted. Our appetizers came out right away, and were also good, just a little small in my opinion for the price. Let’s be honest, this isn’t dinner at Le Bernardin, but just an all around good meal while out with the family that wont destroy your wallet, then you really couldn’t do any better than Cheddars. There’s a reason they’ve been around so long, they treat their customers right and put out a good product, kudos!
